New information videos about the Federal Constitutional Court

On the occasion of its anniversary, the Court added new material to its series of videos; they provide the public with insight into the Court’s past and inner workings.

One video shows how the Court reaches its decisions; it has been produced in German and English, and is available with subtitles. Viewers can experience the Federal Constitutional Court from the inside and follow the course of proceedings. Staff members and Justices give short statements.

In addition, a compilation of news broadcasts by the ARD and ZDF channels relating to certain significant decisions rendered by the Federal Constitutional Court during the last 70 years has been produced. The formats include original audio-visual-footage from the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court in 1951 and of the First Senate’s judgment concerning the prohibition of the communist party KPD in 1956 as well as a current report on the order of the First Senate concerning climate change from 2021.

The videos are also available on the Federal Constitutional Court’s YouTube Channel.
