Visit of the Federal Constitutional Court to the Constitutional Council of the French Republic

A delegation from the Federal Constitutional Court headed by President Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth, LL.M. (Yale) and Vice-President Prof. Dr. Doris König visited the Constitutional Council of the French Republic in Paris between 19 and 21 November 2023. The delegation was received by President Laurent Fabius and other members of the Constitutional Council. The topics addressed in the working sessions were the case-law on privacy in relation to the storage and processing of personal data, the recent jurisprudence on European law, and the organisational approach and working methods adopted by the Federal Constitutional Court and the Constitutional Council in tackling the challenge of communicating their role and decision-making as constitutional courts.
