Visit of the Federal Administrative Court to the Federal Constitutional Court

Press Release No. 20/2024 of 20 February 2024

On 19 February 2024, a delegation from the Federal Administrative Court headed by its President, Prof. Dr. Andreas Korbmacher, visited the Federal Constitutional Court. The guests were received by President Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth, LL.M. (Yale), Vice-President Prof. Dr. Doris König and other members of the Federal Constitutional Court. The topics addressed in the working sessions were ‘Shifting jurisdiction – Is the Federal Administrative Court evolving from an appeal court to a court of first instance?’, ‘Does the acceleration of court proceedings in infrastructure cases undermine the review function of the administrative courts?’ and ‘The scope of the requirement that interferences be based on a statutory provision – A problem affecting not just public service law’.
